“It ain’t what you got, it’s what you do with what you got” serves as the motto of this multi-talented production/engineering(recording & mixing)/writing team. Byron Sims, Malcolm Tariq and Steve “Waves” Simpson have landed their musical talents on several musical projects covering the entire multimedia spectrum.

Byron and Malcolm began their music careers in Columbus, GA where they formed a successful production company, Vintage Muzik. Waves was on a very similar path with his production company, Waves Unltd. Productions in Detroit. After Waves and B. Sims met on a marching band website called 5thQuarter.com, the three collaborated via internet for a couple of years before officially joining forces in Atlanta in 2007. Since then they’ve worked with several artists such as Letoya Luckett, Lil Mo, Yung Joc, Killer Mike, Shareefa, K’Jon, Bobby Valentino, Sammie, Rich Boy, Johnta Austin, JC, Verse Simmons, Chilli, Nick Hagelin, Keke Wyatt and several other acts throughout the music industry.

From 2009 to present, Urban RockStarz have placed music and sound design on nearly 40 TV and film projects. Their latest works are featured in several episodes of MTV’s ‘True Life’, Bravo’s ‘Shahs of Sunset’, VH-1’s ‘Love & Hip-Hop ATL’, ‘Gossip Game’ and ‘Off Pitch’. The team also co-produced the theme song to TV One’s record-breaking show, ‘R&B Divas: Los Angeles’.

In 2013 Urban RockStarz joined forces with Shebena Music Publishing/ All That Is Entertainment where they continue to embark on their epic musical journey.
